Cineflix Rights acquires a wide range of new factual series for its summer slate
Cineflix Rights has acquired four new factual series from UK and North American producers across the lifestyle, crime, paranormal, and history genres.
Wizard of Paws (11×30’, Nomadica Films for BYUtv, US) features heart-warming stories of adorable creatures overcoming the odds. Answering calls from across the US and internationally, pet prosthetics pioneer Derrick Campana gives troubled animals a second chance with one-of-a-kind limbs and takes their owners on an emotional journey as their beloved bionic pets get a new lease on life.
Believers (8×60’, Karga Seven Pictures for Travel Channel, US) features the bone-chilling accounts of people who have experienced shocking and unexplained paranormal events. Telling their terrifying true stories first-hand, the series weaves together interviews, archival footage, and sweeping cinematic recreations to bring other-worldly encounters to life.
Ted Bundy: The Survivors (4×60’, Hoff Productions for Reelz, US) tells the hair-raising story of America’s most notorious serial killer from the perspective of the lucky few who escaped him. Determined to rebuild their bodies and their lives, these courageous women share their incredible stories of survival and how they refuse to be defined by their encounter with evil.
Lost Treasures of Egypt (6×60’, Windfall Films for National Geographic International, Channel 4 UK, RMC Décoverte France, and SBS Australia) has unprecedented access to the modern-day explorers on the front lines of archaeology as they unearth jaw-dropping relics from the sands of time. Crisscrossing the desert from the Great Pyramids to the Valley of the Kings and beyond, sweeping cinematography and CGI bring this ancient civilisation to life as never before.
The deals for Wizard of Paws and Ted Bundy: The Survivors were brokered by Felicia Litovitz, VP, Acquisitions, North America; Lost Treasures of Egypt was brokered by Catherine McCormick, Manager Acquisitions; and, the deal for Believers was brokered by Richard Life, Head of Acquisitions.
Richard Life, Head of Acquisitions Cineflix Rights said: “As we strategically shift to launching new series on a year-round basis, we’re delighted to be adding these new titles from existing and new producer partners to our catalogue and introducing them this summer to our buyers. Crime, lifestyle, and history are perennially good performers for us and these new shows will be perfect for broadcasters looking for great content to play now.”
