MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights appoints Greg Johnson as EVP Americas and Asia Pacific

Cineflix Rights has appointed leading TV executive Greg Johnson to the newly created role of EVP Americas and Asia Pacific, as the company capitalizes on its position as the UK’s largest independent TV distributor and continues to grow its international business activities.

Reporting to Tim Mutimer, CEO, Cineflix Rights, LA-based Johnson will lead the distributor’s scripted and unscripted sales strategy across North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. Working alongside James Durie, Head of Scripted and Richard Life, SVP Acquisitions and Co-productions, Johnson will also be responsible for identifying creative partners and IP, as well as securing financing from US and global networks and other sources to package and greenlight projects through co-productions, pre-sales, and co-financing.

As a member of the senior leadership team, Johnson will also have a wider remit to exploit commercial and strategic growth opportunities for Cineflix Rights, along with Cineflix Media and its joint venture companies and producer partners. 

Johnson joins Cineflix Rights in April from his current role of EVP, Distribution, Americas at ITV Studios, where he led the LA-based team distributing all Global Partnerships content across the US, Canada, and Latin America, together with managing the company’s US network relationships and collaborating with creative partners on international format and drama co-production and financing models in the US. Prior to joining ITV Studios, Johnson held roles including SVP, Sales & Co-Productions – Factual at BBC Worldwide Americas, and VP Sales, Disney-ABC International Television Asia Pacific.
