A+E’s Home.Made.Nation Orders ‘Country House Hunters’ Under Deal With Hello Sunshine, ’48 Hours To Buy’ & Sets ‘Property Virgins’ Host

A+E Networks has signed a development deal with Reese Witherspoon‘s Hello Sunshine for lifestyle series which will air as part of A+E’s Home.Made.Nation multi-platform content hub. The first series from the partnership will be Country House Hunters, a co-production between Hello Sunshine and Abode Entertainment, which will premiere in the summer of 2024 on A&E.
The announcement was made during A+E Networks’ upfront presentation where the Home.Made.Nation. also unveiled a greenlight for another house-hunting series, 48 Hours to Buy, as well as host for the upcoming Property Virgins reboot. Both shows will debut March 30.
Under A+E Networks’ pact, Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media, is expected to focus on series spanning historic home renovations, house hunting, renovating, flipping inherited family homes, helping homeowners navigate renovation disasters, and more. The series will be distributed globally by A+E Networks.
The 20 x 30-minute episode Country House Hunters, an extension of Abode’s Country House Hunters Canada, Country House Hunters Australia and Country House Hunters New Zealand, follows couples as they search for the perfect country home. Witherspoon, Sara Rea, and Sue Kinkead are Executive Producers on behalf of Hello Sunshine. Gary Takle is Executive Producer for Abode Entertainment. Teri Kennedy and Jordan Harman are Executive Producers for Home.Made.Nation.
48 Hours to Buy profiles couples who are in a housing pressure cooker – whether they’re relocating unexpectedly for work, or compelled by a personal situation, their relocation is coming up and they need to find a house fast. The series is produced by Lusid Media.
The new incarnation of Property Virgins will be hosted by Wendy Wolfe, a radio and TV personality and a Toronto realtors.
The update of the former HGTV real estate staple, which was previously hosted by Sandra Rinomato and Egypt Sherrod, portrays the experiences of first-time home buyers, or “property virgins” as they set out to find their dream homes. The series is produced by Cineflix Productions.
Home.Made.Nation is A+E Networks’ cross-network, cross-platform hub for lifestyle programming, currently available on A&E, FYI and A+E’s FAST channels.
A+E Networks recently acquired a 50% stake in Rachael Ray’s new production company Free Food Studios. As part of the deal, A+E Networks has ordered 278 new episodes of programming over the next two years from Free Food Studios, featuring Ray and other talent. The content will air in A+E’s Home.Made.Nation lifestyle programming block, FYI and all other platforms distributed globally by A+E Networks.
