MEDIA RELEASE: ITV ACQUIRES PARAMOUNT+ AUSTRALIAN CRIME THRILLER LAST KING OF THE CROSS FROM CINEFLIX RIGHTS

October 13, 2026

Lincoln Younes plays nightclub kingpin John Ibrahim in the series available to stream on ITVX from 1st November

MIPCOM: Last King of the Cross, the Australian crime thriller starring Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel, Barons ) opposite Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Lie To Me, Tin Star), will be available to stream for free on ITVX from 1st November, following a deal with distributor Cineflix Rights for the first two seasons.

The crime thriller is inspired by the best-selling autobiography of nightclub mogul John Ibrahim, who serves as executive producer alongside Mark Fennessy of Helium Pictures. John writes of fleeing war-torn Lebanon with his family and relocating to Sydney, recounting his ascent from penniless immigrant to Australia’s biggest nightclub tycoon in Sydney’s Kings Cross, – a mini-Atlantic City, barely half a mile long and with every form of criminality on offer.

Set in Sydney’s criminal underworld, the show concentrates on the relationship between John (Younes) and his older brother, Sam (Claude Jabbour, Eden, Stateless). Raised in the blood of the Lebanese Civil War, the two boys enter the underworld of Kings Cross and quickly make a name for themselves. One possesses incredible smarts and invention, whilst the other provides muscle and intimidation. Together, they are unstoppable, and in his late teens John buys his first nightclub.

Just as John is establishing himself, the cocaine wave sweeps Sydney like a virus. The rivers of money begin to flow in different directions, loyalties are questioned, and the delicate ecosystem of Kings Cross is spun into chaos.

For the first time in 30 years the kingdom is up for grabs. For control of Kings Cross, the Ibrahim brothers must battle the reigning King – Ezra Shipman (Tim Roth), the looming threat of a Vietnamese gang, various outlaw motorcycle clubs … and a corrupt police force that belongs to no one.

The first season of Last King of the Cross premiered on Paramount+ on 17th February 2023 and quickly became the streamer’s most-watched Australian series. The second season premiered on 30th August 2024.

Last King of The Cross is a HELIUM Pictures production for Paramount+ Australia with Cineflix Rights as the exclusive international distribution partner. Produced by Mark Fennessy and Karl Zwicky, and executive produced by Mark Fennessy and John Ibrahim, the elevated serialised drama is written by Kieran Darcy-Smith, Morgan O’Neill, Jane Allen, Alastair Newton Brown, Matt Nable and James Pope, and directed by Kieran Darcy-Smith, Grant Brown, Catherine Millar and Ian Watson. Post, digital and visual effects supported by Screen NSW and Screen Queensland.

Last King of The Cross will stream on ITVX from the November 1st.
