MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights launches Inside Taronga Zoo YouTube channel

In partnership with McAvoy Media, the new channel brings existing seasons of the hit show to YouTube alongside a slate of new digital originals 

Cineflix Rights has partnered with Australian producer McAvoy Media to launch a new YouTube channel, Inside Taronga Zoo, as the distributor continues to expand its digital direct-to-consumer business. The channel will incorporate existing and future seasons of the hit television show, and McAvoy Media will also produce a slate of new digital originals exclusive to YouTube.

Inside Taronga Zoo follows hundreds of passionate keepers and vets caring for more than 5,000 animals at Australia’s most famous zoos: Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo. The much-loved series offers an exclusive look at one of the world’s greatest conservation success stories, combining exceptional animal care, inspiring species protection efforts, and unforgettable visitor experiences with a uniquely Australian spirit.

Inside Taronga Zoo is be available on YouTube around the world, including the US, UK, and Europe, as well as Australia. Cineflix Rights will also develop localised language versions of the channel for Latin America and other territories.

Cineflix Rights’ rapidly-growing direct-to-consumer digital business currently includes 26 YouTube channels spanning both owned brands such as Mayday: Air Disaster and Homicide: Hours to Kill, and producer partner channels such as long-running franchises Château DIY and A New Life in the Sun. The distributor plans to double its channel portfolio over the next two years. Cineflix Rights also runs more than 10 owned-and-operated FAST channels across the US, Canada, and UK including the Property Brothers channel. Alongside English-language channels, the company is also rolling out non-English-language versions of its popular brands—for example, the Spanish-language channel Mayday: Catástrofe Aérea. Cineflix has also recently set up a Digital Originals production unit to develop and deliver digital-first content for existing and new YouTube and FAST channels.
