Cineflix Rights signs multiple deals with African broadcasters

June 17, 2016

Cineflix Rights, the UK’s largest independent TV content distributor, has closed a number of deals with pan-African broadcasters for more than 200 hours of content.

Leading the way is a deal with South African broadcaster ETV for the long-running docu-drama Mayday: Air Disaster (Seasons 3-14, 82×60’, Cineflix Productions), hit crime series Unusual Suspects (Seasons 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, 91×60’, LMNO Productions) and crime and investigation series Last Seen Alive (6×60’, Cineflix Productions).

Home Channel South Africa has bought into Cineflix Rights’ extensive property slate with a deal to acquire Property Virgins (Seasons 11 and 12, 32×30’, Cineflix Productions) and Buy It, Fix It, Sell It (Seasons 1 and 2, 20×30’, Frantic Films).

Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Africa is a growing market for us, with new networks launching and existing pan-regional networks expanding their acquisitions as they look to meet the challenge from SVOD players. We’re pleased that these latest deals reflect how our slate is matching the requirements for programming that resonates with audiences across the continent.”

The deals were closed by Lucy Rawson, Sales Manager, Africa, CEE, Middle East, and Southern Mediterranean.
