The Role

Cineflix Rights is currently looking for a Business Affairs Executive on a full-time basis.  Based in our London, UK office and reporting to the Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, Cineflix Rights, the Business Affairs Executive will draft, review, issue, and negotiate agreements alongside related administrative work to ensure timely conclusion of all contract licenses.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue standard sales license contracts from a system generated template, or delegate drafting of standard Cineflix licenses to the appropriate rights person.
  • Review distribution contracts issued on client paperwork to ensure that they accurately reflect instructions issued by the Sales Department on a standard internal deal memo and negotiate through to execution.
  • Working closely with Sales, Finance, Business Affairs and Materials departments within Cineflix to ensure that sales licenses are issued, negotiated and executed to company quarterly and annual deadlines, communicating any issues that may arise in the process.
  • Prepare and negotiate agreements ancillary to sales such as dubbing and access agreements.
  • Ensure all such contracts conform to precedents previously agreed between Cineflix and the client in question and, where none exist, negotiate precedents in conjunction with VP of Business Affairs.
  • Service rights related queries from the business including, where applicable drafting and/or negotiating related amendments.
  • Drafting NOA’s, ensuring timely completion/signature of NOA’s related to all license agreements including following up with client/treasury & bank regarding the progress of NOA’s.
  • Checklist sales license agreements in Rights Tracker (“RT”) to ensure rights entry conforms to terms of agreement. Update RT with comments on status of deals as well as arranging for rights person to set completed agreement to fully signed in RT once complete.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in the film and tv industry
  • Highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Good understanding of TV rights
  • Good understanding of the basic legal framework on distribution agreements
