Cineflix Productions names director of scripted development
By Kelly Townsend, Playback
Cineflix Productions has tapped iThentic’s Lisa Baylin for the newly created role of director, scripted development.
Based in Toronto, the role sees Baylin sourcing original scripted content to develop at Cineflix Media’s production division. Baylin is also responsible for liaising with industry talent, agents and buyers.
She began the role effective this fall and reports to Cineflix Productions executive producer Jeff Vanderwal.
Baylin most recently served as VP, scripted at Toronto prodco iThentic, overseeing the development and production of its original series. Her producer credits include For the Record, the International Emmy-winning transmedia series Guidestones and Canadian Screen Award winners Save Me and Space Riders. She has also directed an episode of For the Record and the short film Bagged.
Before iThentic Baylin was a program manager for the Bell Fund, the Independent Production Fund, and the COGECO Fund, and got her start in casting, launching LB Casting in 2007. She has also served as a digital media consultant for the Canadian Media Producers Association and a member of the International Emmy Awards jury.
For the Record recently sold format and distribution rights to Europe-based media conglomerate Mediawan, which will shop the format rights in Europe and Latin America and handle international distribution.
