Cineflix Rights closes acquisition deals ahead of its London Showcase event – Announces Richard Life joining as VP, Acquisitions
Cineflix Rights, the UK’s largest independent TV content distributor, has closed multiple program acquisition deals with producers Fahrenheit Films, Vulcan Productions, Fusion, Rondo Media, and Yeti Television ahead of its annual London Showcase event for buyers.
From Fahrenheit Films, First Response: Paramedics (12×30’) is a fast-paced, action-packed observational documentary series following the teams of paramedics at MD Ambulance as they respond to 911 emergency calls.
Following the success of Fusion Media Group’s Miami Porn, their new documentary series City Porn (working title, 4×60’) goes behind the scenes of the sex industry in Las Vegas, Portland, San Francisco, and New York.
Produced by Vulcan Productions, The Cold Blue (1×60’/1×70’) pairs interviews with surviving veterans with the amazing, recently discovered footage shot by William Wyler, one of Hollywood’s most renowned directors, as he documented combat missions flown by the B-17 “Memphis Belle” over Europe.
The deals with Fahrenheit Films, Vulcan Productions, and Fusion Media Group were closed by Anthony Kimble, SVP, Co-Production and North American Acquisitions.
Rondo Media’s The Wall (working title, 6×60’) is a timely series exploring the fascinating human stories behind six iconic man-made barriers around the globe. Each episode combines stunning landscapes and interviews with people on either side – whether building the walls to protect their communities or tearing them down to reunite families.
World’s Tiniest Masterpieces (1×60’) from Yeti Television follows Willard Wigan, the world’s leading miniature sculptor whose creations sell for millions of pounds. Using cutting edge macro camera technology and CGI, the film explores what drives Wigan and why artworks which can’t be seen by the human eye have proven to be so in-demand.
The deals with Rondo Media and Yeti Television were closed by Kate Laffey, VP, Acquisitions who is now on maternity leave. Richard Life, one of the UK’s most experienced TV distribution executives, has taken on the role of VP, Acquisitions, handling non-North American scripted and factual in the interim. Bringing a wealth of commercial and creative experience, Richard has held roles including Head of Acquisitions and Co-productions at ITV Studios Global Entertainment and Head of Programming at Channel 4 International.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Our London Showcase event is a great way of introducing our latest titles to buyers before we launch them at MIPTV, and I’m delighted to be boosting our 2018 slate with these diverse new shows from our North American and UK producer partners. I’m also really pleased to welcome such a great guy as Richard to the Cineflix Rights team. His extensive knowledge and fantastic reputation are key as we continue to expand our acquisitions portfolio.”
