Award-winning prodco Cineflix Productions (Desperate Souls, Dark City and the Legend of Midnight Cowboy) has come on board the new feature documentary project Enough (w/t), a portrait of civil rights attorney Lee Merritt and his quest to find justice for Black Americans who have been killed in encounters with police.

Co-directed and produced by Matthew Vigil and Kreshnik Jonuzi, the film follows the Texas-based Merritt (pictured right) as he navigates both the legal system and the emotional burdens his work puts upon him and the families he represents. Offering unfiltered views of Merritt’s personal struggles with mental, physical and emotional exhaustion, the doc also delves into the epidemic of anxiety and depression afflicting social justice lawyers, who are often understaffed and are forced to operate with limited resources.

“For more than three years, Lee allowed us to follow him without restrictions as he sought justice and tried to ensure a better future for his five children,” said Vigil and Jonuzi in a release. “Now, as we work towards our ultimate goal of finding the best partners and sharing Lee’s story with as big of an audience as possible, we are most grateful for this opportunity to partner with Cineflix and the vast support they’ve all given this project.”

“I am a big admirer of Lee Merritt and have wanted to help document his monumental work for some time,” added J.C. Mills, president and head of content at Cineflix Productions. “When Kreshnik and Matthew told me about their incredible access to his life — basically a front row seat to his work — I knew we had to be a part of this moment.”

Mills will serve as an EP on the project, along with Cineflix executive producer Tanya Blake.
