Based on the harrowing three-day ordeal, Abducted: The Carlesha Gaither Story chronicles the abduction of a Philadelphia nurse’s aide at the hands of a homicidal predator—and reveals how she battled to survive, and create a trail that would ultimately lead to her rescue.
Carlesha Gaither is walking home from a family gathering when she is forced into a car at knifepoint by a violent man who tells her ‘you’re mine now’. Determined to survive and outsmart her captor, Carlesha leaves behind clues at every stop, convinces her abductor to use her ATM card, and manages to get inside his mind. Meanwhile, her family makes an impassioned plea to the media, and a committed detective mobilizes to find Carlesha alive.
The movie stars Riele Downs (Darby and the Dead, Henry Danger) as Carlesha Gaither and Kenya Moore (The Real Housewives of Atlanta) as her mother, Keisha Gaither. Katie Boland directs from a script written by Amani Walker.
