MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights closes multiple deals for Whitstable Pearl
Cineflix Rights has announced a raft of international deals for Whitstable Pearl, the best-selling cozy crime series based on Julie Wassmer’s much-loved novels.
Whitstable Pearl (Seasons 1-3, 18×60’, Buccaneer for AMC Networks’ Acorn TV) is set in the beautiful English seaside town of Whitstable, home to Pearl Nolan (Kerry Godliman, Derek, After Life), who divides her time between serving up tasty seafood delicacies in her restaurant and solving the crimes, debauchery, and murder regularly brought in by the tide. Alongside Pearl is DI Mike McGuire (Howard Charles, The Musketeers) as her on-off rival and love interest.
Buyers acquiring all three seasons include Corus (Canada) for French-language drama channel SériesPlus, and RTS (Switzerland, while Euskal Telebista-EBT (Spain) has bought Seasons 1 and 2. Warner Bros. Discovery has bought Season 1 for its Italian service, with NHK (Japan) taking Season 2. SVT (Sweden), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark), TV2 (Denmark) have all acquired Season 3, with BBC Worldwide taking Season 3 for its services covering Benelux and Asia, and NBCU International Networks also acquiring Season 3 for its pan-Africa networks.
