MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights closes multiple deals for Irvine Welsh’s Crime
Cineflix Rights has announced new sales for Irvine Welsh’s Crime, starring Dougray Scott in his International Emmy® award-winning lead role. The series has been acquired by TELEFONICA’s pay TV platform Movistar Plus+ (Spain), SBS (Australia), RTE (Ireland), Blue Entertainment (Switzerland), and Canal+ for viewers in Luxembourg, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
Irvine Welsh’s Crime (12x 60’, Seasons 1&2, Buccaneer and Off Grid Film & TV for ITVX/BritBox) follows Detective Inspector Ray Lennox (Dougray Scott, Mission: Impossible 2, Batwoman), a man engaged in his own disturbing battle while undertaking serious crime investigations in a city on the edge of the abyss. The series, adapted by acclaimed author Irvine Welsh from his own novel, also stars John Simm (Life on Mars, Grace), Joanna Vanderham (Warrior, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Angela Griffin (Harlots, White Lines), Ken Stott (The Dig, Fortitude), and Jamie Sives (Guilt, Too Close).

The deals with Movistar Plus+, Blue Entertainment and Canal+ were brokered by Sabrina Ayala, Sales Consultant, Iberia, Italy, French-speaking Europe and French Canada. The deal with RTE was closed by Sandra Piha, SVP, Sales, Pan-Regional, UK, Eire, and Scandinavia and Chris Bluett, SVP, Sales, Asia Pacific and Benelux closed the deal with SBS.
