Premium limited series, based around hours of never-before-heard, intimate audio recordings of Diana, Princess of Wales, will launch at MIPCOM

Cineflix Rights has acquired a major new three-part premium documentary series from Love Monday TV which draws on hours of never-before-heard, intimate audio recordings to reframe one of the most enduring, iconic narratives of our time. Diana Unheard (3×60’), which is being coproduced for three major partners in the US, UK, and Australia to mark the 30th anniversary of Diana,Princess of Wales’ tragic death, will launch to international buyers at MIPCOM 2026.

Long portrayed primarily through the lens of vulnerability and tragedy, Princess Diana is revealed in

these secret recordings as self-aware, determined, and actively shaping her own future. Hours of unheard, unfiltered, and unguarded audio, recorded by the Princess herself during conversations with a close companion, offer audiences her private reflections on identity, resilience, and purpose.

Rather than reinforcing the familiar image of a passive figure defined by circumstance, Diana Unheardreveals a woman at a crossroads: taking brave steps to reshape her own future, and ready to reclaim her legacy, choosing how she wishes to be seen and remembered.

Over three episodes packed with emotion and humour, Diana discusses the key moments of her life, from childhood and marriage to her husband’s longterm affair with the future Queen, Camilla, and her hopes for her own children, Princes William and Harry.

The series also reveals the extraordinary lengths Diana herself went to in order to ensure her story could be heard. She devised a daring plan to have the tapes secretly smuggled out of Kensington Palace, an extraordinary act of courage and one of the biggest risks she ever took. The recordings would ultimately have an explosive impact on the Royal Family, the British establishment, and the world.

Backed by interviews with those who knew her well, this unprecedented series reveals the real Diana, stepping out of history’s shadow and into her own light as she changes the face of the British monarchy forever.

Richard Life, SVP Acquisitions and Co-productions, Cineflix Rights said: “Princess Diana has been the subject of numerous documentaries over the years but what really sets Diana Unheard apart is the unique opportunity to hear several hours of intimate recordings of the Princessher own story in her own voice at a pivotal point in her life. Thirty years on, Diana remains a global icon and source of endless fascination for viewers. We are thrilled to be representing this premium limited series from Love Monday TV, and look forward to launching it to our international buyers at MIPCOM.”

Kerene Barefield, Creative Director, Love Monday TV said: In making Diana Unheard, we wanted to challenge the narrative that has too often portrayed Diana, Princess of Wales simply as a victim of her circumstances. At the heart of the series are hours of intimate recordings that allow Diana to reclaim her own story, in her own words. With exclusive access to the complete collection of these extraordinary tapes, we hear Diana’s voice with a candour and intimacy that has rarely been heard before. This is Diana not as a passive victim of events, but as a woman taking control of her own narrative and risking everything to make her voice heard. Diana Unheard restores authorship of one of the most scrutinised lives in modern history to the woman at its centre. I’m delighted to be partnering with Cineflix Rights to bring this extraordinary story to audiences around the world.
