MEDIA RELEASE: CHARLES TREMAYNE LAUNCHES FIRST STORY PRODUCTIONS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CINEFLIX MEDIA

Emmy® Award-winning television executive Charles Tremayne announced today the launch of First Story Productions, his new company in partnership with Cineflix Media. Based out of New York, Tremayne will head up the company with Caroline Grist joining the team as Development Executive.  

First Story Productions will develop and produce premium factual and scripted content based on true stories, along with TV movies for global audiences. Tremayne has a number of projects set up with networks including Lifetime, National Geographic International, Discovery Science, and Syfy. He is also working with writer and showrunner Ric Burns on the development of a limited scripted series—Donner Party—for the History Channel.

The partnership gives Cineflix Media the first option to co-produce original content developed by Tremayne under his newly formed production company. The Cineflix Productions team, under the leadership of J.C. Mills, President and Commercial Director, will provide services and development support on Tremayne’s projects. Cineflix Rights has the exclusive first-look to distribute First Story Productionscontent internationally.

The announcement comes a year after Tremayne transitioned from his role as President of Cineflix Productions to the new role of Chair of the Cineflix Content Group, a working alliance of its producers and creatives, which he will continue to hold while building First Story Productions.

During his tenure at Cineflix Productions, Tremayne was responsible for overseeing many long-running global hit franchises including American Pickers and Mayday: Air Disaster; documentaries like Sinking Cities and The Quest for Gold, true crime investigations The Clown and the Candyman, The Eleven, and Children of the Snow; fact-based drama series Gangland Undercover; as well as Lifetime TV Movies I Was Lorena Bobbitt and the award-winning Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey. Before joining Cineflix, Tremayne served as an Emmy® Award-winning Executive Producer in charge of RDF’s east coast production base that produced Wife Swap for ABC. Prior to that, he was at ITV, where among many roles he was Executive Producer of World in Action and co-created the long-running First 48 for A&E.

For Cineflix Productions, Caroline Grist was instrumental in the development of the investigative crime series The Clown and the Candyman, Children of the Snow,and The Eleven, as well asthe global franchise Homicide: Hours to Kill,now in its third season.
