Cineflix Media Teams Up with André Barro to Create International Co-Production Platform

June 12, 2017

Cineflix Media Inc. announced today that it is partnering with the award-winning Canadian producer André Barro in a move to bolster its international co-production business.

Barro holds more than 20 years’ experience working with UK, European and Canadian producers and broadcasters financing and producing hundreds of hours of high-quality television programming for the international market. Most recently Barro held the position of Vice President and Executive Producer at Handel Productions and previously he was a senior executive at Cineflix in charge of Production.

Combining Barro’s extensive experience in international co-productions with Cineflix Media’s substantial production, financing, and distribution resources, the company will be able to offer UK and European producers access to additional funding for their projects through presales, co-development, Canadian incentives for treaty co-productions, and distribution advances. Barro will attend the Realscreen Summit later this month to discuss opportunities with producers and broadcasters.

Glen Salzman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Cineflix Media said: “André has a great track record of working with international producers and getting quality co-productions off the ground. By combining André’s expertise with Cineflix’s extensive production and financial resources, we can offer an innovative and producer-friendly co-production platform, creating outstanding content for Canadian and international networks.”

André Barro said: “I’m delighted to be reuniting with Glen and Katherine at Cineflix. We want to bring co-production to a new level, providing an innovative model for some of the world’s top content creators to get their programming made in a collaborative and transparent manner.”
