Cineflix Rights has acquired a premium three-part limited series, Senna: The Last Race, coproduced by C3 Media and Yap Films, two award–winning Canadian companies. The series has been pre-sold to Warner Bros. Discovery (Latin America), SBS (Australia), and Bell Media (Canada), in advance of its launch at MIPCOM 2026.

Senna: The Last Race follows investigators working to uncover the truth behind one of the most famous and charismatic sporting celebrities of all time—F1 driver Ayrton Senna—who tragically passed away at the height of his fame doing what he loved. With his passing, Senna became a legend and icon in the sports pantheon, and his death changed the world of motor sport forever.

The series explores an untold part of his story. Following a death witnessed by millions around the world on television screens and radios, an investigation is launched to solve the mystery of why he crashed and how such a tragedy could be prevented from happening again.

With exclusive access to investigators, friends, and eyewitnesses, bringing together firsthand testimony, technical analysis, and deeply personal accounts, Senna: The Last Race re-examines the events over a dark weekend, the mystery surrounding the possible causes of the accident, and how the tragedy affected ordinary lives. It is also a story of legacy: Ayrton Senna’s tragic passing led to critical safety reforms, and his influence on the sport endures decades after his final race.

Richard Life, SVP Acquisitions and Co-productions, Cineflix Rights said: “Ayrton Senna was a global icon whose life and tragic death touched millions worldwide, both motorsports fans and the wider public. We anticipate lots of interest from global buyers for this premium limited series from two award–winning production companies with extensive documentary experience, which is why we backed Senna: The Last Race from the start. We’re very pleased to have pre–sold it already to Warner Bros. Discovery in Latin America, SBS, and Bell Media in advance of its launch at MIPCOM.”
