June 30, 2021

Nat Geo Wild has acquired for the US Seasons 1 and 2 of Wizard of Paws (21X30’, The Dodo and Nomadica Films for BYUtv, US), in which pet prosthetics pioneer Derrick Campana gives troubled animals a second chance with one-of-a-kind limbs. Blue Ant Media in Canada has also bought Season 1 of the series.

CBC Gem has picked up My Big Family Farm and Five Years on the Farm (Seasons 1-3, 18X60’ and 1X90’, Renegade Pictures and Motion Content Group for Channel 5, UK) which chronicles the remarkable adventures of hill shepherds Amanda and Clive Owen as they raise their nine children and more than 1,000 sheep on one of the most remote and spectacular farms in Britain; vegan cookery and lifestyle series Living on the Veg (10X60’, Rock Oyster Media for ITV, UK); and The Day Will and Kate Got Married (1X60’, Finestripe Productions for ITV, UK), celebrating the ten-year anniversary of one of the world’s most talked-about couples.

A&E has bought Seasons 1 and 2 of Killer Cases (20X60’, Law&Crime Productions for True Crime Network, US) which weaves together interviews and gripping footage to uncover all the emotion, drama, and suspense of America’s most chilling murder trials. Meanwhile, Investigation Discovery has acquired another title from Cineflix Rights’ true crime portfolio, taking Season 3 of Homicide: Hours to Kill (26X60’, Cineflix Productions for A+E Networks, UK).

Bell Media Canada has also acquired two movies: I Was Lorena Bobbitt (1X90’, Cineflix Productions for Lifetime, US) in which the anti-domestic violence crusader tells her story for the first time—to set the record straight, provide hope, and help victims of domestic violence everywhere; and An Ice Wine Christmas (1X90’, Cineflix Productions for Lifetime, US), the story of a big-city sommelier returning to her hometown and family-run business for the annual harvest.

Lucinda Gergley-Garner, SVP, Sales, North America and German Speaking Territories, who closed the deals said: “This has been a busy spring with lots of demand for some of our latest heart-warming series reflecting a desire for content that moves and uplifts viewers. Alongside this content, our refreshed slate of high quality true crime continues to sell well, as do our growing number of movies.”
