Cineflix Rights announces new slate for MIPTV 2017
Cineflix Rights, one of the UK’s largest independent TV content distributors, has announced its new slate for MIPTV, with a scripted line-up led by the hit series Pure; factual programming including the landmark documentary Diana: The Day The World Cried; and the stunning new natural history series, Mountains and Life.
Pure (6×60’, Scripted, Two East Productions and Cineflix for CBC), inspired by true events, is the journey of a Mennonite pastor who is determined to rid his community of the scourge of drugs and its nefarious ties to a transborder smuggling alliance with ruthless Mexican cocaine cartels. The top-rated new drama delivered more than double the ratings of the previous program in its time period.
Diana: The Day The World Cried (1×60’, Factual, Finestripe Productions for ITV) marks the 20th anniversary of the death of the ‘People’s Princess’. The documentary special is told in the words of those who were there, including some of the famous faces at Westminister Abbey and those behind the scenes and with many speaking exclusively for the first time.
Inside Dior (2×60’, Factual, Finestripe Productions for Channel 4) gives viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the billion-dollar luxury empire as it celebrates its 70th anniversary, led by its first-ever female creative director.
A Big LEGO® Christmas (1×60’, Factual, Waddell Media for Channel 4) gives access to the global superbrand as it prepares to open the world’s biggest LEGO® store, in London. As with Cineflix Rights’ two previous LEGO® documentaries, this latest show was a huge hit, generating an increase of 75% for the time-slot average.
Mountains and Life (6×60’, Factual, Green Bay Media for S4C UK) uses stunning photography and insightful storytelling to reveal the hidden secrets of the world’s most spectacular mountain landscapes and the communities that struggle to survive in them.
Bizarre Murders (52×30’, Factual, Bellum Entertainment) exposes unbelievably strange, yet true criminal cases. From a man blowing up his twin in an explosive dispute over their inheritance, to a woman gunned down by 14 state troopers after they mistake her for a target.
Bizarre Bloopers (52×30’, Factual, Bellum Entertainment) features the funniest, most embarrassing, and shocking human blunders from around the globe.
Hours to Kill (26×60’, Factual, Cineflix Productions) is the new groundbreaking true-crime docudrama series that follows investigators working the most shocking murder cases as they reconstruct the tragic final 24 hours in the victim’s life in order to find the killer and crack the case.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “Cineflix Rights’ MIPTV 2017 slate meets the current demand for high-end, authoritative, blue-chip factual programming that gives exclusive behind-the-scenes access to iconic brands or individuals. In addition to our factual content, we are also premiering Pure a gripping new drama series that takes viewers inside a closed and secretive subculture.”
