Cineflix Rights appoints Tom Misselbrook as SVP, Scripted Sales and Development

Cineflix Rights has appointed Tom Misselbrook to the newly created role of SVP, Scripted Sales and Development, as the distributor continues to grow its scripted portfolio.  

Based in London and reporting to Cineflix Rights Head of Scripted James Durie, Misselbrook will work alongside the sales and acquisitions teams, with a focus on selling existing and new content, and helping to identify, develop, and deliver Cineflix Rights’ increasing slate of scripted co-productions and acquisitions.

Misselbrook’s most recent roles include Executive Director, Sales APAC, based in Sydney and London and Director, Sales EMEA both at Miramax. Prior to Miramax, he was Senior Manager, Sales & Co-Productions for BBC Studios, based in New York.

Cineflix Rights is ramping up both its English and foreign-language drama catalogue, drawing on productions from Cineflix Studios as well as producer partners including Buccaneer Media and Connect3 Media.

Latest scripted sales for Cineflix Rights include new Israeli drama Tehran which is airing globally following a major deal with Apple TV+; Canadian series Coroner, now airing worldwide on CBC, The CW Network, Channel 4, and Sky Witness; supernatural cult sensation Wynonna Earp, recently sold to NBCUniversal International Networks across Europe; ITV and Netflix thriller Marcella, currently being adapted for TF1 France. Icelandic series The Minister and Russian thriller An Ordinary Woman and multi-award-winning Berlinale Series 2020 official selection Happily Married were sold to North American streamer Topic and other international networks, with Happily Married also one of the first acquisitions by new French streaming platform Salto.
