MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights closes factual content deal with SBS Australia

Cineflix Rights has closed a deal with SBS Australia for more than 20 hours of factual content from its blue-chip history and documentary slate.

Voices of the Dead (3X60’, SandStone Global for Channel 5, UK) sees Professor Bettany Hughes using new technology while putting her investigative skills to the test, revealing intimate portraits of people and how they lived in Ancient Egypt and Pompeii.  

The Story of Late Night (6X60’, Cream Productions for CNN, US) takes viewers on a journey through late-night television’s most memorable moments. Featuring some of the funniest people on the planet and packed with behind-the-scenes stories from A-list Hollywood insiders, the series provides the ultimate accounts of a genre that changed the face of TV forever.

WWII By Drone (6X60’, Like A Shot Productions for UKTV and Smithsonian Channel, US) brings Europe’s sleeping battlefields back to life as never before thanks to cutting-edge CGI and drone-mounted technology.

Battle of Alcatraz (2X60’, Hoff Productions for Reelz, US) tells the story of one of the greatest jailbreaks of all time. The year is 1946, and five desperate convicts launch a brilliant escape plan. That is, until mayhem erupts, and the Rock becomes the site of a dramatic and violent standoff.

The 2013 film offers an hour-by-hour look at the events leading up to his death and includes exclusive never-before-seen interviews and powerful, rare archive footage.
