Cineflix Rights expands third party slate with new acquisitions
Cineflix Rights, the UK’s largest independent TV content distributor, has increased its roster of producer partners with acquisition deals for hipster chef series Chuck’s World from Trio Orange, natural history series Mountains and Life from Green Bay Media, and comedy special The Improv: 50 Years Behind to Brick Wall from Spotted Dog Entertainment. The distributor has also acquired feature-length World War II documentary Sniperwatch from longstanding partner Yap Films. The deals were signed ahead of Realscreen West, which the Cineflix Rights acquisitions team will be attending.
Chuck’s World (13×30’) follows celebrity chef and restaurateur Chuck Hughes on an adventurous food travelogue to some of the world’s most hidden-away corners, encountering fascinating locals who are as passionate about food as he is.
Mountains and Life (6×60’) explores some of the world’s most spectacular mountain landscapes and celebrates the communities that struggle to survive in them. Stunning photography and insightful storytelling reveal the hidden secrets of iconic ranges including the Himalayas and the Andes, the Rockies and the Alps, alongside the breath-taking splendour of less familiar peaks in Africa and Asia.
The Improv: 50 Years Behind the Brick Wall (1×60’) brings together the biggest names in comedy, including Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, Jimmy Fallon, and Russell Brand to tell the inside story of America’s first comedy club.
Sniperwatch (1×90’) reveals the true story of five men who travelled through World War II together, clearing towns of German snipers who threatened the advancing Allied soldiers. A real-life ‘Band of Brothers’, the documentary recounts the intimate and dangerous combat careers of these men who carried out some of the dirtiest work in the war.
Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “These deals meet strong demand from our buyers for high-end, blue chip history and natural history content, alongside the enduring popularity of programming which combines cooking and travel. I’m really pleased to be welcoming new producer partners to Cineflix Rights as we continue to expand our third party slate. We’ll be at Realscreen West looking to do further factual content deals.”
