Cineflix Rights makes Middle East sales ahead of DISCOP Dubai

February 23, 2018

Cineflix Rights, the UK’s largest independent TV content distributor, has made multiple sales with Middle East networks ahead of DISCOP Dubai.

YES DBS Israel has bought The History of Comedy (seasons 1&2, 14×60’, Herzog & Co. and Hazy Mills Productions), which features hilarious archival footage alongside current interviews with both comedy legends and scholars such as Norman Lear, Carol Burnett, and Larry David.

Another Israeli network, Home + owned by Talit, has bought Property Brothers at Home: Drew’s Honeymoon House (5×60’ Scott Brothers Entertainment), the latest show from Cineflix Rights’ Emmy® award nominated Property Brothers franchise, along with season 7 of the Property Brothers series (26×60’, Cineflix Productions). Also in Israel, Channel 8 has taken The Pacemakers (1×60’, Bungalow Town Productions), a fun, surprising story of a group of men over the age of 90 pursuing their dream of becoming world class athletes.

Manoto TV – the Farsi Speaking free-to-air satellite channel based in London – has acquired Muhammad Ali: A Life (1×60’, Mukahari Media) which looks back at the extraordinary life and career of the ‘People’s Champion’, as told by the men and women who understood him best; and The Little Couple (seasons 4-8, 69×60’, LMNO Productions), the global hit series following the fascinating lives of Bill Klein and Jen Arnold who are 4-feet tall.

Lucy Rawson, Sales Manager, Africa, CEE, Middle East and Southern Mediterranean, who closed the deals and will be attending DISCOP Dubai, said: “The Middle East is an important, growing sales region for Cineflix Rights. Science, documentary, and wildlife titles have always performed well, but we are also finding more interest in lifestyle, property, and cooking programming. I’m excited to be heading to DISCOP Dubai for the first time, launching a slate of new shows alongside our existing catalogue in a market which feels like it has real buzz at the moment.”
