MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights partners with Cream Productions and Discovery on I Got Lucky

January 25, 2021

Cineflix Rights is partnering with Canada’s Cream Productions on the new series I Got Lucky, following a multi-territory pre-sale deal to Discovery for discovery+.

From freak accidents and explosions to extreme stunts gone awry, I Got Lucky (14X30’, Cream Productions) chronicles spectacular close calls and explains how survivors managed to walk away. Featuring near-death footage, riveting first-hand accounts, and an eclectic cast of experts, the series is a death-defying deep dive into the science of how people escape alive from the most extraordinary situations.

The pre-sale deal, brokered by Sandra Piha, Cineflix Rights’ SVP, Sales, Pan-Regional, UK, Eire, and Scandinavia, includes discovery+ channels across the UK, Germany, Iberia, the Nordics, Italy, Benelux, Poland, and Latin America. Cineflix Rights is distributing the show in all other territories, including the US.

Richard Life, Head of Acquisitions, Cineflix Rights said: “We are thrilled to have negotiated this pre-sale with Discovery which helped to secure a greenlight for Cream’s series. This latest deal demonstrates the success of our strategy of building a ‘pre-sale and greenlight’ slate from our producer partners. I Got Lucky follows on from recent successes including McAvoy Media’s Inside Taronga Zoo, now into its second season and Law&Crime Productions’ Killer Cases, as we continue to explore similar deals.”

Kate Harrison Karman, President of Cream Productions, added: “We have a longstanding relationship with Cineflix and are always impressed by their distribution strategy. This project is a perfect example of our creative partnership as it went from greenlight to delivery during Covid.”
