MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights signs multiple pre-sale deals for The Day Will and Kate Got Married
Cineflix Rights has signed multiple pre-sale deals with Nordic and Eastern European broadcasters for its recently acquired premium, prime time ITV documentary from Finestripe Productions marking the tenth wedding anniversary of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The Day Will and Kate Got Married (1X60’, Finestripe Productions for ITV, UK) celebrates the ten-year anniversary of one of the world’s most talked-about couples and reveals the inside story of a star-studded wedding that captivated the globe. Featuring exclusive interviews with family members and the creatives who made it happen—including Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, royal dressmaker Daniella Helayel, cakemaker Fiona Cairns, Royal Protection Officer Graham Craker, photographer Hugo Burnand, and more—this intimate documentary allows viewers to relive all the ritual and pageantry when all eyes were on Westminster Abbey.
The documentary has been pre-sold to TV4 (Sweden), YLE (Finland), TV2 (Denmark), NRK (Norway), and BBC Poland with further deals currently in negotiation.
Cineflix Rights has a longstanding relationship with Finestripe Productions, successfully selling documentaries such as Diana: The Day the World Cried, The Day We Walked on the Moon, Inside Dior, and The Day Kennedy Died to buyers around the world.
Catherine McCormick, Senior Manager, Acquisitions, Cineflix Rights, said: “Finestripe Productions consistently delivers premium content for our buyers. They gain access to key players and unearth new stories to create high quality, blue chip documentaries about pivotal moments in history, which is why their previous anniversary-related shows such as Diana: The Day the World Cried and The Day We Walked on the Moon have been so successful internationally. The Day Will and Kate Got Married is a timely look at one of the highest profile couples in the world, and we’re confident it will be equally popular with audiences globally.”
The deals with TV4, YLE, TV2, and NRK were brokered by Sandra Piha, SVP, Sales, Pan-Regional, UK, Eire, and Scandinavia. The deal with BBC Poland was closed by Lucy Rawson, VP, Sales, Africa, CEE, Middle East, and Southern Mediterranean.
