March 31, 2020

Cineflix Rights has unveiled its Spring+ Summer 2020 slate of new scripted and factual content, to coincide with MIPTV’s online forum.

Leading the distributor’s drama lineup is Berlinale Series 2020 official selection Happily Married (10×45’, Productions Casablanca for Radio-Canada Télé and Tou.Tv Extra), the story of two suburban couples who descend into a ruthless life of murder and criminality after dropping their children off at camp in July 1974.

The Minister (8×60’, Sagafilm for RUV Iceland, DR Denmark, NRK Norway, SVT Sweden, YLE Finland) is the gripping Icelandic political drama which stars Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as a populist Prime Minister with a worsening mental health condition threatening the stability of the government and the lives of those around him.

Heading up Cineflix Rights’ factual slate is The Clown and The Candyman (4×60’, Cineflix Productions for Investigation Discovery, US), which follows investigators as they try to identify the anonymous victims of two of America’s most notorious serial killers, John Wayne Gacy and Dean Corll.

Building Historic Homes (8×60’, Windfall Films for Channel 4, UK) chronicles the over-the-top renovation and design challenges of couples and families determined to transform some of the most unique buildings into show-stopping dream homes.

Into the Unknown (6×60’, Cineflix Productions for Travel Channel, US) follows adventurer and survivalist Cliff Simon as he makes his way through forbidding landscapes to explore some of the most nightmarish myths of all time.

Battle of Britain: Three Days That Saved The Nation (3×60’, Lion Television for Channel 5, UK), told from the perspective of the brave and largely unknown souls who put their lives on the line, this is a thrilling minute-by-minute account of how Hitler’s aerial invasion was foiled by the brave pilots of the Royal Air Force.

New food titles include Ainsley’s Mediterranean Cookbook (10×60’, Rock Oyster Media for ITV, UK) in which one of Britain’s favourite TV chefs heads off the beaten track to show there’s more to the Med than you might expect; and Living On The Veg (10×60’, Rock Oyster Media for ITV, UK), an all-vegan cookery series that proves you don’t have to sacrifice pleasure for a plant-based diet.

Our new slate, which we are previewing to our clients through our online screening channels, demonstrates the best content our brilliant producer partners are creating for audiences looking for intrigue, escapism, thrills, entertainment—and everything in between.”
