MEDIA RELEASE: Cineflix Rights takes Irvine Welsh’s Crime worldwide, picks up rights to Season 2
MIPTV: Cineflix Rights has announced a raft of international sales for Irvine Welsh’s Crime, the acclaimed author’s hit adaptation of his best-selling novel. BritBox/ITVX recently announced the second season of the drama, produced by Buccaneer Media and distributed internationally by Cineflix Rights.
Broadcasters and platforms acquiring Irvine Welsh’s Crime include CBC (Canada), RTE (Ireland), VRT (Belgium), POLAR+ and CANAL+ Group (France), NPO (Netherlands), Hot (Israel), Yes (Israel), Magenta TV (Germany), and Corus (Canada – Quebec). The series has also been sold to BritBox USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Irvine Welsh’s Crime (12x 60’, Seasons 1&2, Buccaneer Media and Off Grid Film & TV for BritBox/ITVX) follows detective Inspector Ray Lennox (Dougray Scott, Mission: Impossible 2, Batwoman), a man engaged in his own disturbing battle while undertaking serious crime investigations in a city on the edge of the abyss. The series also stars John Simm (Life on Mars, Grace), Joanna Vanderham (Warrior, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Angela Griffin (Harlots, White Lines), Ken Stott (The Dig, Fortitude), and Jamie Sives (Guilt, Too Close).
